Much has changed over the past few months, winter is gone and spring is here, also carrier car seats are a thing of the past and big boy car seats are hear to stay... soon they will be forward facing too! They have not been officially weighted but we tried to weigh them at home on our scale and both were right around the 20 lb mark still only about a half lb difference. I recently got a jogging stroller from Costco (Thanks mom, Rach and Amy for the gift cards!) and am loving it, we go out as often as we can and I am planning to order a rain cover for it so I won't have an excuse to stay in on rainy days. I thought the new stroller would out rank the bjorns now that the boys are so big, but as it turns out we still use them, actually Tom uses the Bjorn and I use a Moby warp (it helps distribute the weight over my entire back... I love it). So we have reinstated our nightly walks through the neighborhood and the neighbors continue to laugh at us and comment on how big the boys are, they also like to joke that the boys should be caring us soon.
Kaden:
Kaden is crawling and all over the place, that kid can move fast and pulls himself up on anything he can find, including the walls, toilet (yuck), trash can or my leg while I'm doing dishes, cooking or changing James!!! He is a curious boy always on the go. Kaden is also my cuddle bug, he loves to snuggle his head into our necks, he also like to give what we call "love"... he will rub his forehead against ours, he also does it to James and although it is a little rough at times James does not seem to mind. Kaden loves to feed himself whatever we put on his tray or whatever he finds on the ground, including lint from the dryer! He has his two bottom teeth now, Oh and he is cruising all over the house and will take a few steps towards us without holding anything if we stand him up in the middle of the room.
James:
James has perfected clapping his hands, and occasionally will clap when we ask him to without demonstrating. He can say Mama and Dada, and he loves to rock to music. He is making all sorts of other sounds too. James has decided that he is going to take his time figuring out crawling, we can see that he really wants to be mobile, but he just can't figure it out... he can rock on his hands and knees, spins on his belly, pushes himself backwards, and tries to move forward by pushing up on his toes, but he does not lift his belly off the floor and thus only nudges himself forward... it's very entertaining. He has also discovered a new world of walking when holding our hands, and each time we are near him he will reach for our fingers and pull himself up and off he goes exploring all the places we don't usually put him, like the corner of the room behind the front door.Kaden & James waking up from a nap, we often find them talking to one another. Kaden loves to stand up in his crib and peek over at James, it is great fun to see.

The boys now have helmets... No! we are not over protective parents, the boys have flat heads, most likely from sleeping on their backs. We have tried repositioning them since they were only 3 months old, they were stubborn and put their heads back in the same position. We are now in their 7th week with the helmets and are already seeing good progress. The is for them to have a length to width ration of 85%, that is the norm, but for kids with misshapen heads the goal is anything under 90%. Kaden started out at 101% and has improved to 98%, James was at 98% and is now at 93%... the doctor was very impressed with James' progress, Kaden's was good too, but James was GREAT! We go back in two weeks for a special scan of their heads which will give us a more accurate reading but so far we are happy with the results.
